Daniel “Dan” Scott, age 73, of the Murphy’s Chapel Community, passed into the Loving arms of God on Wednesday, August 17, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Dale; parents Robert and Eula Scott; brother, Steve “Yogi” Scott, and sister, Earline McFall.
Dan experienced life to the fullest and was proud to have seen many parts of the nation during his years as a truck driver. Dan enjoyed tending to his cattle with his sons and treasured spending time with his grandchildren. He could also play a mean hand of poker and loved a good laugh. But his greatest accomplishments in life were his loving family and surrendering his soul to Jesus Christ.
Dan leaves behind his wife of 53 years Jewel Young Scott; sons Jeffery Daniel “Danny” Scott (Tina) and Johnny Wayne Scott (Maria), grandchildren, Blake (Lauren), Jordan (Johanna), Morgan and Anna; siblings, Bob Scott (Mary) of Manly, NE, Gary Scott, twin David Scott (Patsy), Jack Scott of Oceola, IN, Jim Scott and Peggy Benson (Raymond), and a host of nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be August 19th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral will be Saturday, August 20th at noon in the funeral home chapel. Wayne Wood and John Richards will be officiating. Interment will be at Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Keith “Peanut” Scott, Dennis Wood, Terry McFall, Rodney McFall, Randall Woods, and Greg Young. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Smith and Jerry McFall.
