Damon John Blevins, 48, longtime resident of Potts Camp, went to be with the Lord on July 15, 2024, as a result of injuries sustained from an automobile accident on April 22, 2024.
A Memorial Service honoring the life of Damon will be held by his family at a later date.
Damon was born on August 23, 1975, in Alexandria, LA, to the late Billy Glenn Blevins and Laura Cotner Joyce. He was a 1994 graduate of Central High School in Memphis, TN. Then on June 26, 1999, he married the love of his life April Childress Blevins and spent 25 years together while he was a loving husband, father and “Poppy” in Potts Camp. He was a valued employee with Holmes Seamless Gutters.
A Christian, Damon will be remembered as a humble, giving, man that adored his family. Known as the greatest “Poppy” ever, he never missed an opportunity to attend his children or grandchildren’s sporting and school events. He could easily be described as goofy and silly but had a heart of gold and took care of any family members or animals that needed help or were sick. Damon’s favorite past times included anything to do with nature. He loved to grill, garden, push mow acres of land, and spend time shining the rims on his truck. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, April Blevins, two daughters, Taylor Glover (Aaron) and Megan Blevins all of Potts Camp, three sisters, Andrea Sides of New Albany, Mandy Joyce of Nashville, TN, and Samantha Wells of Elizabethtown, TN, two grandchildren that he much adored, Waylon John Blevins and Charli Brooke Glover, a host of nieces and nephews and his special canine companion, LaLa. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Amanda Blevins.
New Albany Funeral and Cremation Care invites you to share memories with the Blevins family.
