Dallie Joel Fleming, 87, of Decatur, Alabama passed away Friday, November 22, 2024 at his residence. Funeral Services will be Monday, November 25, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Westmeade Baptist Church with Rev. Justin McAlpin officiating. Interment will be at Midway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, November 24, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Fleming was born in Hodges, Alabama on September 1, 1937 to Lee V. and Hettie Scott Fleming. He was a devoted Christian and a member of Westmeade Baptist Church. He served his country as a United States Army Veteran. He was a machinist by trade, and retired after 38 years at Fruehauf.
Mr. Fleming was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His kindness and love will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. Although we mourn his passing, we take comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with his loved ones in the embrace of eternal peace.
Mr. Fleming was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Fleming; son-in-law, Tim Garner; daughter-in-law, Lisa Fleming; his brothers and sisters.
Mr. Fleming is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Garner; three sons, Joey Fleming (Brenna), Darron Fleming, David Fleming (Mysti); brother, L. V. Fleming (Doris); sister-in-law, Jurley Fleming; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Freda Pelfrey; eight grandchildren, Nick Garner (Magan), Kevin Garner, Heather Garner, Whitley Free (Ryan), Lucas Fleming, Savannah Shilling (Roger), Katherine Fleming, John Fleming; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Nick Garner, Kevin Garner, Lucas Fleming, John Fleming, Roger Shilling, and Ryan Free.
Shelton Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
