Dallas Baggett – Obituary

Reverend Dallas Baggett, 102, went to heaven, Monday, May 8, 2017. He was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Oct. 9, 1914. He graduated from Southern Nazarene University with degrees in History and Theology. In 1940, he married Gervayse Cooner. They shared 66 years of marriage.

Reverend Baggett pastored Nazarene churches in Lanett and Birmingham and in Charleston, West Virginia ( Davis Creek ). He served as district superintendent for the Nazarene Denomination in Kentucky and South West Ohio. After retiring, he and Gervayse held prayer retreats, revivals, and camp meetings across the country.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gervayse; two brothers, Lonas Baggett (Edna) and Jim Baggett (Vivian).

He is survived by his daughter, Hannah Cameron ( Bob ); grandsons, Matthew Cameron (Brooke), Zachary Cameron (Candice); three great-grandchildren, Caroline, Andrew and Benjamin Cameron and “Cam” Cameron is due to arrive in October. He is also survived by his brother, Max Baggett (Marge) and precious nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Martin Benson, Matthew Cameron, Zachary Cameron, Dr. Rodney Harney, Sherman Leeth, Billy Miles, Chris Priest and Marcus Wilson.

A Celebration of Life will be Thursday, May 11, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Reverend Kyle Poole officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Reverend Baggett’s family would like to express their deep appreciation to Dr. Rodney Harney, The Medicine Shoppe, Hospice of the Valley, Cedar Springs and Summerford Nursing Homes.
