Dale S. Wales, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the age of 72. She was surrounded by the love of her family and the memories she cherished.
Dale’s life was celebrated during a visitation held on Sunday, April 21, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home. A heartfelt service, led by Josh Beddingfield and Lisa Myhan, followed at 2:30 p.m., where friends and family gathered to honor her memory. Dale was laid to rest at Gatlin Cemetery, where she will forever be remembered.
Dale was born to Edward and Odell Smith, and she shared an unbreakable bond with her siblings. The sister trips they embarked on were cherished moments filled with laughter and love. Dale’s life was enriched by her family, and she was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Smith.
Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 53 years, Curtis K. Wales, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Dale’s legacy lives on through her three brothers, James, Billy, and Willie Smith, and her four sisters, Betty, Carolyn, Jean, and Marie. Together, they shared a bond that transcended time and distance.
Dale’s children, Tiffinnie Nelms with husband Todd and Clint Wales with wife Heather, were the light of her life, and her nine grandchildren, Bentlee, Emree, Wales, Easton, Clay, Jackson, Avery, Brandt, and Brennan, brought her immense joy and pride. Her love for them knew no bounds, and she treasured every moment spent in their company.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Monroe Carell Jr Children’s Hospital, a cause close to Dale’s heart.
