Dale Burney – Obituary

daleDale Burney, 68, of Killen went home to the Lord after a long battle with MS on Saturday, February 28, 2015.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Ann Burney and brother, Thomas Burney.
Mr. Burney leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 48 years, Diana Burney; two daughters, Dorinda Smith (Wayne) and Dana Specker (Nick); two grandchildren, Alex and Baylee Smith; four sisters, Faye Bartlett (Bart), Linda Giles (Billy), Gale Tinsley (Ronnie), and Virginia McDonald (Aaron); brother, Jimmy Burney (Helen).
Mr. Burney worked as a Boilermaker, Local 455, for 11 years and was a truck driver for 22 years. He enjoyed tinkering with projects these last few years while his health allowed. “He was our hero.”
Visitation will be Monday, March 2, 2015, at Elkins East Chapel from 6PM to 9PM. Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Elkins East Chapel at 2PM with Bro. Stan Dean officiating. Burial will be at Butler Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nick Specker, Wayne Smith, Alex Smith, David Barrett, Sam Benn, and Larry Owens.
