Dale Allen Witherspoon, age 71 of Fort Payne, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024. Mr. Witherspoon was born on January 10, 1952 in Springfield, Ohio. He retired from the United States Air Force and later retired from BSI where he was a machinist.
Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. EST, Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
He is survived by his children, Joshua (Ashley) Witherspoon, Dawn Witherspoon and Julianna Shell (Orrin); brothers, Robert “Bobby” Witherspoon, Jr. and Jerry Witherspoon; sisters, Gayle Cline and Jackie Sampson; grandchildren, Madilynn Witherspoon, Johnathan Witherspoon, Daniel Shell, Chloe Shell, and Liam Shell; favorite child, Scrappy; and mother of his children, Marianne Witherspoon.
He was preceded in death by his mother & step-father, Marjorie & Paul Mauer; and father, Robert Witherspoon, Sr.
