Dahl Gifford, 71, of Florence, died Sunday, May 24, 2015. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 10a.m. – 12p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow the visitation with Bruce Blankenship officiating. He was a member River Road Church of Christ.
Mr. Gifford was an Army veteran, where he served in the Vietnam War. He trained at the Navy Diving School to become an expert diver for Tennessee Valley Authority.He was beloved by most, except for those who hated his guts because he always spoke his mind. Dahl was especially loved by his family, old ladies, children and dogs.
He was preceded in death by his mother; Clevie; father, Charles” Mutt ”;baby sister, Mary Susan.
He is survived by wife, Vicki Gifford; step – son, Joel Letson; daughters, Lisa and Susan Gifford; brothers, Butch, David, Roy, and Greg Gifford; six grandchildren: Andrew, Philp, Nate, Kayden-Reed, Eliza and Ava.
We would like to extend special thanks to his healthcare team especially Dr. Little, Dr. Patel and the staff in the ICU at Helen Keller Hospital who made his passing so peaceful.
