Dafene Adair Johnson, 82, of Decatur died peacefully in her home on May 6, 2023. Dafene was born July 11, 1940, in Lawrence County to Leroy and Pearlie Lee Adair. She was married to Noah Johnson on August 17, 1957 and they settled in Decatur to raise their family. Dafene worked at General Electric and retired after many years to spend time with her loving husband Noah. Upon her retirement from GE, she would spend time with her family and tend to her flower gardens, along with reading her Bible. Later in life, Dafene was diagnosed with Alzheimers and fought a ten year long battle alongside her family.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Noah Johnson. Survivors include her children: Mike Johnson (Gayle), Gordon Johnson (Kim), Pam Chambers (Wayne), and Tonya Reid (Keith). She was a beloved grandmother to Jonathan Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Rachael Spiller, Terra Johnson, Drew Johnson, Trent Terry, Emma Reid, and Weatherby Reid. She was also a loving great grandmother to Parker Johnson, Landon Johnson, Reagan Johnson, Andy Spiller, Jansen Terry, Maverick Terry, and Averlee Terry.
Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. at Aldridge Grove Cemetery, in Lawrence County. Rev. Lynn H. Terry will be officiating services. Pallbearers will be Mike Johnson, Gordon Johnson, Keith Reid, and Wayne Chambers.
