SHEFFIELD-The moon will be shining bright in Sheffield, Alabama Thursday, June 30.
That’s the day Cypress Moon Studios will unveil its new Full Moon Theater and its “Moon Talk” entertainment newspaper and celebrate The Women of Muscle Shoals Music with a star-studded concert beginning at 8 p.m.
“It’s going to be an amazing concert,” said Tonya S. Holly, owner of Cypress Moon. “These women have all made their mark on music in the Muscle Shoals area, Nashville and all over the world. They will be performing the hit songs they have written or recorded over four decades. It’s definitely an event you don’t want to miss.”

Among the musicians are Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Alabama Music Hall of Fame inductee and former member of The Grateful Dead Donna Jean Godchaux-MacKay, 2007 Nashville Star winner Angela Hacker, Alecia Elliott, Cindy Richardson, Carla Russell, Sandi Brown, Shauna Tucker, Jenny Strickland, Becki Bluefield, Sue Richards, Lisa Silver, Charlene Montgomery, Melba Montgomery and Jaki Sikes.
The concert will be in the new 500-seat theater at Cypress Moon Studios, 1000 Alabama Avenue, Sheffield.
The studio was the location of Muscle Shoals Sound Studios from 1978 to 2005. Among the legendary musicians who recorded there were Bob Dylan, Bob Seger, The Commodores and Julian Lennon.
