Cynthia Denise Hodges, age 58, of Leighton, died Tuesday, October 22, 2013. The family will receive friends Friday, 12-2 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. with Brother Guy Estave officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Mrs. Hodges was a native of Huntington, Indiana and a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; Ora Eugene Adams, Betty Louise Adams and her brother, Michael Jeffrey Adams.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who touched the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Barret Hodges; son, Jeffrey LaRay Lindsey and wife Amista of Leighton; daughters, Tammy Marie Morris and husband Gene of Muscle Shoals, Christy Lynn Mitchell and husband Kevin of Leighton; brothers, Jerry Eugene Adams and wife Donnie of Champlain, NY, Philip DeWayne Adams and wife Lee Ann of Elgin; sister, Cheryl Darlene Perkins and husband H.C. of Hot Springs, AR; grandchildren, Megan Barber (Steven), Katelynn Watkins, Braxton Lindsey, Elijah Lindsey and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Jeremy Adams, DeWayne Adams, Rodney Stevenson, Kenny Hood, Steven Barber, Lee Adams, Tony Adams, Ricky Perkins and Randy Perkins.
The family expresses special thanks to Northwest Alabama Cancer Center and Helen Keller 4th floor and the Emergency Room Department. Also, a very special thank you to Rodney Stevenson for all he has done.
