Cynthia Denise Holcomb Cynthia Denise Davis Holcomb (64), of Morris, Alabama, passed away November 9th, 2022. She was born May 20th, 1958 to John R. Davis and Barbara Davis, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband of 18 years Herbert Wayne Holcomb, brother Randel Davis, sister-in-law Sue Davis, and niece Apryl Davis, all of Morris.

After graduating from Athens State University, Cynthia worked for over 30 years as a special education teacher and psychometrist for the Lawrence County School System, where she loved her students and considered them her adopted children. Her love of music began as a young girl playing piano in church, and gospel music held a special place in her heart throughout her lifetime. Cynthia loved cats and Alabama football in equal measure, but she was best known for her love of family, her exceptional memory, and her quick wit. She knew all the family stories and knew how to keep people laughing while she told them. She could see the humor in any situation and was quick to point it out with a wry grin. While she kept a small circle, she loved those in it fiercely and made sure they knew it.  Her husband Wayne was her true joy and closest friend. She was deeply loved and will be equally missed every day.

Services will be held at the Marion County Funeral Home in Hamilton, Alabama, on Saturday, November 12th. Visitation will be at 12:00 pm and the funeral will begin at 2:00 pm.
