Cynthia Alice “Cindy” Crosby

Ms Cynthia Alice “Cindy” Crosby, 72, resident of Dumas, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Born September 4, 1951, in New Albany, MS, Ms. Crosby is the daughter of the late Willie Ralph and Lovie Rutherford Adair. A 1969 graduate of Pine Grove High School, she continued her education at the University of Mississippi, receiving her master’s degree in education. A Pine Grove Elementary School teacher for 20 years, Ms Crosby will be remembered for her patience, her love for teaching and molding young minds. Family was very important, and she cherished every opportunity shared with her four grandchildren. An avid Ole Miss fan, Ms. Crosby enjoyed reading and caring for animals.

Memories will continue to be cherished by two sons, James Crosby of Atlanta GA, Jonathan Crosby (Melissa) of Chennai India, three sisters Jane Bynum of Birmingham AL, Nancy Hodges of Dumas MS, Jo Cousar (Bill) of Blue Mountain MS, four grandchildren, Blake, Brooklyn, Alana and Allie Crosby all of Chennai India.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Adair.

A private family graveside service is planned for a later date.
