Curtis Wayne Underwood, 72, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2023, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born April 10, 1951 to the late Dewey Curtis Underwood and the late Maggie E. Long Underwood in Guntown. He retired from Structured Fibres Inc. in Saltillo. He was a Baptist in belief and a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army as a Sharpshooter and helicopter repairman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, leather work, and working on small equipment. Curtis was known for helping anyone in need and he was active in the Boy Scouts, serving as a leader. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 pm on Thursday December 7, 2023 at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Humphres officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11am-2pm on Thursday December 7, 2023, at Senter Funeral Home.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his daughters, Opal Derie (Randy) Siddall of Guntown, and Virginia (Donnie Turner) Sheffield of Mantachie, grandchildren, Michael Ray (Rhiannon) Sheffield, Andrew(Felicia) Siddall, Anna (Jason Crowley) Sheffield, Tiffany (Chris Pannell) Sheffield, Samantha (Todd) Moore, and Joshua Siddall, and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Underwood, parents, Dewey Curtis and Maggie E. Underwood, and a brother, Walter Underwood.
Pallbearers will be Michael Sheffield, Andrew Siddall, Chris Pannell, Randy Siddall, Danny Smith, and William Pannell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Pannell, Adam Sheffield, and Logan Pannell.
