Funeral service for Curtis Raymond Smith, age 76, of Danville, will be Wednesday, January 22, 2014, 12:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray McWhorter and Rev. O. D Bowling officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Smith, who died Monday, January 20, 2014, at his residence, was born January 15, 1938, in Marshall County, to Grady Smith and Agnes Jones Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Keenum and Betty Sapp.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette Russell Smith of Danville; two daughters, Samantha Hill (Tony), and Karen McElroy (Avery), both of Decatur; one brother, Alton Smith of Moulton; and four grandchildren, Brittney Waldrep, Callie Reeves, Alexandra McElroy, and Andrew McElroy.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Baker, Hansel Aldridge, Bobby Suggs, Joe Hutto, Haywood Shelton, and W. L. Early. Honorary pallbearer will be Wayne Kirby.
