Funeral service for Rev. Curtis Ray Stanford, 48, of Danville will be Monday February 16, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home with Shawn Buckner and Bro. Chuck Oden officiating. Visitation will be Sunday February 15, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Upton’s Chapel Cemetery.
Rev. Stanford died Saturday February 14, 2015 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born February 5, 1967 in South Carolina to Gene Ray Stanford and Ellon McDowell Stanford. Rev. Stanford was the pastor at Forest Hill Baptist Church for the past 12 years. He was attending the Biblical Study Theological Seminary where he had obtained his Associate’s degree and was 10 hours away from his Bachelor’s degree. He was previously employed as a Division Manager for Physician’s Mutual Insurance Company. Rev. Stanford was preceded in death by his father; a son Cavan Curtis Stanford; sister Rhonda D. Stanford; his grandparents Robert and Ruth Stanford Horn, Claude and Daisey McDowell and Charles Stanford; father-in-law Donald Lamar Brown; uncle and aunt Joe Sr. and Brenda Stanford.
