Mr. Curtis Jeremiah Franklin, Jr., age 87, a resident of Spring Hill, passed away Thursday morning, September 28, 2017 at his residence.
The family will celebrate his life with services at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on May 1, 1930 in Empire, AL, Curtis was the son of the late Curtis Jeremiah Frank, Sr. and the late Emma Geneva Walker Franklin. He served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a private pilot and loved to fly more than anything. Curtis was a home aircraft builder who built two aircrafts in his lifetime. He worked as an electronic technician for Vought Aero Structures. Curtis was also a member of the HAM Radio Club in Smyrna.
He is survived by his wife: Donna Joan Miller Franklin of Spring Hill; daughter: Katherine (Kirby) Hames of Taylorville, IL; son: Robert (Barbara) Franklin of Mt. Juliet; grandchildren: Bret Franklin, April Walz, Rebecca Wiggins; and four great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters.
