Creativity Flows in the River City Decatur Morgan County Tourism Releases MoCo Art Trail Digital Pass

DECATUR-Art comes to life on the new MoCo Art Trail recently released by Decatur Morgan County Tourism in the form of a digital pass. Featuring 10 locations in Decatur and Hartselle, the MoCo Art Trail encourages residents and visitors alike to explore beautiful art and masterpieces in various settings and discover hidden gems and treasures.

 

The MoCo Art Trail offers a self-guided tour of 10 locations, guiding trail-goers around beautiful art galleries, shops, studios and local museums that display the works of talented local artists and some of the area’s greatest masterpieces. Each location on the MoCo Art Trail is unique in its own way and showcases original artwork in different settings. Since each location on the trail is constantly evolving with new and exciting artwork, trail-goers never know what to expect.

 

“There are many talented artists located here in Decatur and Hartselle and creating this trail allows us to share their stories and promote their work while providing our visitors and locals an opportunity to explore another distinctive characteristic our area offers,” said Decatur Morgan County Tourism President and CEO Danielle Gibson.

 

Venues include Alabama Center for the Arts, Bank Street Antiques, Carnegie Visual Art Center, DeAnn’s Art Studio and Gallery, Kathleen’s Fine Art and Interiors, Main Street West, Shops on 2nd Avenue, the Middle House Gallery and Framing, The Studio on Bank and Old State Bank.

 

The trail is interactive and is available in the form of a digital passport which can be downloaded from https://www.visitdecatural.org/moco-art-trail for free. Upon registering, the passport will be instantly delivered to the user’s smartphone via text and email and is ready to use immediately. There is no app to download. The pass can be saved to the smartphone’s home screen for easy one-tap access. Along with a brief description of each location, the passport offers the street address, hours of operation, a brief description, website and GPS coordinates along with an interactive map. Trail-goers can check in at each location and once all locations have been visited, trail-goers will receive a free t-shirt, compliments of Decatur Morgan County Tourism. When visiting a participating location, simply check in using the mobile phone’s GPS to record each visit.
