Craig Chancey
December 30, 1963 — December 26, 2024
Saltillo
Our sweet precious Craig ran to meet Jesus in the early morning hours of December 26, 2024. Craig was the beloved son of Jack and Mary Chancey. He was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on December 30, 1963. The family made the Tupelo area their permanent residence in 1973. Craig attended Tupelo Public Schools. Afterwards, he enjoyed being with his friends at the Work Opportunity Resource Center. Craig called First Baptist Church Tupelo his home. He lived a full and beautiful life traveling all over the country with his family.
To know Craig was to love Craig. He had a smile and a hug for everyone he met…whether he knew them or not! Craig’s joy was contagious and he brought out childlike qualities in every adult. Craig will be greatly missed by all those who knew him and loved him.
Craig is survived by his mother Mary, sisters Rochelle Flatt(Paul) and Jackie Jones(Earl), nephews Jace Flatt, Thomas Jones(Camille) and Stephen Jones (Kaitlyn), great nephew Donavon, great niece Ellie and his faithful dog Annie. Craig was preceded in death by his father Jack.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Henderson, Jay Henderson, Lee Henderson, Jack McFerrin, Rickey Reynolds and Jeff Young.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 28 from 4-6 pm at Pegues Funeral Directors.
A celebration of Craig’s life will be held Sunday 2 pm at First Baptist Church Tupelo, MS with Bro. Matt Powell officiating.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Vital Caring Home Hospice and his special caregivers Hannah, Katie, Megan and Bro. Clayton.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Craig’s memory may be made to Mark of Faith at First Baptist Church 300 North Church Street Tupelo, MS 38804.
“When we all get to heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be! When we all see Jesus, we’ll sing and SHOUT the victory!”
