  Coy Glen Smotherman Profile PhotoCoy Glen Smotherman, age 80, of Waynesboro, TN, departed this world on December 3, 2024, in the comfort of his home. He was born on November 21, 1944, he was the son of Wilson and Pauline Ayers Smotherman.

Coy dedicated many years of his life to working at Eaton Transmission, where he served as a Tow Motor Operator until his retirement. His commitment to hard work was matched only by his passion for the simple pleasures in life. In his spare time, Coy found joy in tinkering with his tractors in his cherished workshop. He relished the beauty of nature, whether tending to his garden or simply soaking in the tranquility of country living.

He is survived by his son, Donald Smotherman (Margaret); brother, Roy Marvin Smotherman; sisters, Lois Marie Long, Grace King, Faye Taylor (Edwin), and Rita Latimer; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.

In addition to his parents, Coy was preceded in death by his son, James Robert Smotherman; and brothers, Larry Ray Smotherman and Kenneth Smotherman.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN with Jimmy Pearcy officiating. Burial will follow in Shaw Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Appleton, Randy Appleton, Jeremy Beaver, Caleb Smith, Pierce Smith, and Adam Smith.
