Cottie Ruth Battles, age 95, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, October 05, 2022. Graveside Services will be held at Forrest Cemetery (700 South 15th Street Gadsden, Alabama 35901)
at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 08, 2022. Dr. Ed Hurley will officiate.

Cottie was born in Etowah County in 1927. She was a 1946 graduate of Etowah High School and retired from the accounting department at Republic Steel after 32 years of service. She was a former member of Clear Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Rainbow Presbyterian Church. She was a current member of South Highland Presbyterian Church. Cottie was preceded in death by her husband Jack Battles; infant daughter, Sharon; sisters, Thermarene Newkirk and Ola Mae McClendon.
Survivors include her daughter, Kim (Scott) Cook; granddaughter Mary Katherine (Chris) Weeks;
Beloved nephew, Richard Smith; and beloved niece Celia Stewart.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Presbyterian Children’s Home, Talladega, Alabama.
