Cornelia  Marie  Ford Cornelia Marie Ford, age 101 of Winchester, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Franklin Manor Assisted Living. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Winchester on July 16, 1920 to the late August “Gus” Carl and Beulah (Weddington) Bauer. Having retired at age eighty-five, Cornelia had previously worked at the Franklin Bakery, Hat Corp of America, Hardison Dental, Shaw Carpet Mill, and Franklin County Trustee’s Office. She was a volunteer at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems for over twenty years, leaving her volunteer position at the age of 95. She also volunteered for the Salvation Army and was recognized by the City of Winchester where her photo banner was displayed on the Winchester square. A member of the Winchester First United Methodist Church, she was very active in the UMW. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing rook, sewing, quilting and gardening. She was an exceptional cook and never used a recipe for her delicious fried pies, fried chicken and chicken and dumplings. She went for a walk every day until she was well into her nineties and enjoyed watching Lifetime movies on rainy days. She will be remembered as a hardworking, loving and energetic lady who treasured time spent with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Walker Ford; son, Buford Donald Ford; siblings, John R. Bauer, Carl Bauer, Otis Bauer, Mildred Ellis, Betty Horton and son-in-law, Howard Counts. She is survived by her children, Kenny (Jan) Ford of Fairview, TN, Dale (Jane) Ford of Ringgold, GA and Linda Counts of Winchester; grandchildren, Cynthia Martin, Tammy (Greg) Merriman, Chris (Melissa) Ford, Jeff (Laurie) Ford, Lindsay (Steve) Adams, Courtney (Matt) Daniel, Jennifer (Jonny) Bell, Joy Goodwin; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Evan, Hunter, Hallie, Catherine, Ansley, Jackson, Bella, Emma, Madeline, Sadie, Griffin, Sawyer, Parker, Kamryn, Carter, Jack, and Jacob; sister, Mary Ann Austin of Winchester, and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 11 am-1 pm Monday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 1 pm Monday, September 20, 2021 in Moore-Cortner Chapel with Pastor Steve Angus officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Winchester First United Methodist Church.
