Cora May Jernigan Sutton Cora May Jernigan Sutton, 86, passed away on January 27, 2022 in Jackson, TN.

She was born August 22, 1935. She was preceded in death by her husband, George (1991), her parents, Charlie and Jewual Jernigan, her brother, Douglas, and her first husband, David Dellinger.

Her daughter Debra Benson (Rick) of New Castle, Delaware and her sons Charles (Chuck) Dellinger of Bolivar and Mike Dellinger of Selmer survive her. She is also survived by her brother Millard (Faye) of Huntsville, AL and her sister Carolyn Lott (Johnny) of Oxford, MS, her granddaughter, Amanda Benson, and a number of nieces and nephews.

She attended West Tennessee Business College after graduating from Central High School in Bolivar. Cora retired from the Bank of Bolivar on December 31, 1996, after more than nineteen years, serving as teller and branch manager at several banks including Hornsby. She also worked at the Hardeman County Savings Bank for sixteen years. Ms. Sutton was the pianist at the Hornsby Baptist Church for ten years before moving to the Walnut Grove Baptist Church in 1958 where she served as pianist, Sunday school secretary, and in other leadership roles.
