Cora Lee Gaddie Stephens, age 94 of Elora, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Scottsboro, Alabama on September 7, 1926 to the late William and Laura (Stevens) Gaddie. A dedicated homemaker, she enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, canning, knitting, and sewing, as well as going to the casinos in Mississippi. Cora Lee was a full-time baby-sitter to the children in the family and cherished the time she spent taking care of them. She and her late husband, Mannie Stephens, were married for sixty-five years. In addition to her parents and husband, Cora Lee was preceded in death by her children, Linda Stephens Mann, Eva Lee Stephens Posey, William Mannie Stephens, and Mannie Joe Stephens; and siblings, Richard Gaddie, Lora Stephens, Nora Tabelon, and Virgil Gaddie. She is survived by her loving children, Allen (Tammy) Stephens of Winchester, Kenneth Stephens of Elora, Shirley (Glen) Smith of Petersburg, Jo Anne Stephens of Elora, Carolyn (Bruce) Platt of Belvidere, and Kathy Morris of Estill Springs; nineteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, June 30, 2021in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro.
