Cora Dean Woodard – Obituary

Cora Dean Woodard, 69 of Arley passed away on October 12, 2012 in Cullman.

She was born on January 19, 1943 in Helicon Community. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She graduated from Meek High School in 1961. Mrs. Woodard was a fulltime mawmaw, and enjoyed taking care of family and playing with the grandkids and cooking.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 from 6-8pm at Liberty Baptist Church in Helicon, where services will be held on Sunday at 2:00pm. Reverend Greg Dollar and Reverend Delbert Freeman will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

She is survived by her son, Mark Woodard and his wife Jamie; daughters, Jan Tidwell and her husband Bruce, and Regena Newton and her husband Jerome; she was MawMaw to 5 grandchildren, Tyler and Seth Newton, Dexter and Jessie Woodard and David Tidwell; and her sister in law Edith Powell.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Ray Woodard; parents, Lewis and Geneva James; brothers, Herbert James (Hildredge), Willard James (Glenda), Carl James (Barbara), Truman James, Cecil James (Nora) and Wreford James; and sisters, Margie Cleghorn (Roy), and Mary Bell (Roy).
