RUSSELLVILLE-Frederick Montanye was arrested on Sunday, September 25 and charged with sexually abusing a child under 12. According to Officials the child was taken to Hospital for examination. At that time the Franklin County Department of Human Resources was contacted to assist the child.
Montanye was arrested in a tent he was living in near Highway 724 and Highway 83 in Russellville. Montanye tried to leave the area but was apprehended quickly. One officer received minor injuries during the pursuit.
According to investigation Montanye has been accused of having sexual contact with a toddler. He was charged with Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 12, Resisting Arrest, 3rd Degree Assault and Attempting to to Elude. Bond has been set at $50,000.
According to records with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Montanye was a registered sex offender in Franklin County. Montanye had been released from a Florida prison in August where he had served a sentence for Kidnapping, Sexual Battery, Lascivious Sexual Battery of a victim under 16 in Pasco County and one other victim under 12 in Hillsborough County.
