LAWRENCEBURG-The Lawrenceburg Police made an arrest this past weekend of a convicted sex offender on rape and kidnapping charges.
Here is how the city of Lawrenceburg describe the arrest of one man:
“A convicted sex offender was taken into custody by police officers during the weekend for allegedly assaulting, kidnapping, and raping an ex-girlfriend.
Greg Gordon, age 50, of Lawrenceburg, was apprehended in Maury County and returned to the Lawrence County Detention Center on charges of aggravated domestic assault, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated rape.
An investigation was initiated Saturday after a thirty-five year old Lawrenceburg woman reported that she had been kidnapped and sexually assaulted. When she spoke with officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department she reported that she and Gordon had dated, but that they had broken up a couple of weeks prior. She said that Gordon had contacted her, saying that he “wanted to meet up with her and talk.”
The victim told officers that she met with Gordon and he drove around in her vehicle while they talked. She said that he drove to a wooded area where he sexually assaulted her. She told officers that he beat her, struck her on top of the head with a flashlight, and placed her in the trunk of her car. She said that he drove to a low water bridge and told her to get out of the trunk and wash off the blood. She said that afterward, he drove her to another location where he had her shower the remaining blood from her hair and body.
The victim was treated at a local hospital following the ordeal. Her vehicle was taken to the police department’s impound lot for processing. Investigators initially recovered evidence from several different locations, including her car trunk.
Investigators conducted a search for Gordon and report that they eventually located him at a residence in Maury County.
Gordon is incarcerated without bond. He has been scheduled an initial appearance in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on August 6, 2015.
Authorities said that Gordon is listed on the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Sex Offender Registry for past rape convictions.”
