Constance "Connie" Ann White Steen Constance “Connie” Ann White Steen, 85, died Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at the North Alabama Medical Center in Florence, AL. She was born in the Whitehead Community of Lauderdale County, AL on April 25, 1939, and was the daughter of Harold Benton White and Lila Eitha Grisham White and the granddaughter of Norman Clarence White, Virgie Lee Dean White, Henry Clay Grisham, and Tellie Ora Campbell Grisham, all of Lauderdale County. Connie was a lifelong member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She graduated in 1958 from Lauderdale County High School where she was a cheerleader. She attended the Larimore Business College in Florence and afterwards worked in an insurance office. Connie married Robert Sherell Steen on November 5, 1960 at the Springfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church. After marriage, she followed her husband as an Army wife, and made a loving home in South Carolina, Georgia, Germany, Alaska, Germany again, Iowa, and Enterprise, Alabama, before residing in Florence for the past forty years. She was a fabulous cook who enjoyed sharing meals with her family.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Robert Sherell Steen; two daughters, Shelaine (Alex) Steen Luttrell of Madison, AL and Julia Steen Harshbarger of Apex, NC; four grandchildren, Frank “Ford” Alex Luttrell, IV, Robert Andrew Luttrell, Lila Ellis Harshbarger, and Brenson Steen Harshbarger; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dwight & Jean Gray; sister-in-law, Charlotte Steen; one niece, three nephews, and numerous cousins.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Springfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church with a funeral service at 12:00 p.m., Brother Kenny Morgan officiating. A burial will follow at Springfield Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery with Elkins East Chapel directing. Her grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the Springfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
