SHEFFIELD – Tuesday night at Sheffield’s Riverfront Park music venue, hundreds of people showed up to hear music from Shenandoah, Lenny LeBlanc, Gary Baker, Travis Wammack, Wayne Chaney and other great musicians who performed to raise some money for the family of fallen Police Sergeant Nick Risner. It was a great outpouring of love and respect.

Marty Raybon, of Shenandoah, who played the pivotal role in organizing the event, told the audience that the show was to pay honor and respect to the family of Sheffield’s fallen hero. Sgt. Risner lost his life protecting Shoals citizens a little over a week ago. And Raybon, through music wanted to help Risner’s family, and the community as a whole get some closure. It was a beautiful night. Lots of love in the crowd. A lot of donations for the family was collected. In fact, and autographed guitar was auctioned off, with $1-thousand going to the family. The high bidders for the instrument were, Michael and Stacey Franks. Today (Wednesday) the guitar was presented to Stacy and her father, Billy L. Riley, by Sheffield Chief of Police, Ricky Terry.

The Quad Cities Daily was on hand at the concert and recorded the evening in EVENT PHOTOS…
