SHEFFIELDCompany, by  modern musical theater’s most renowned composer, Stephen Sondheim (Into the Woods, Sweeny Todd) brings a little bit of New York to the Ritz Theatre this February 23-25 and March 1 and 2. Winner of seventeen Tony awards while on Broadway, this Shoals-based production packs as much punch with high-energy comedy and power ballads centered around the bachelor, Bobby (played by Andy Wallace), as he explores the relationships in his life. Directed by Macy Ladner, Company brings some of Sondheim’s most beloved songs to the stage two weekends in a row.

“In 2021, I went to see Company in New York, and it was a life-changing experience. I really related to this production in a lot of ways. It is a story about people and friendship. The word “company” means something different to everyone, and I think anyone could come to this show and find something to relate to. It is sure to leave you with a lot of thought,” says director Macy Ladner.

Company includes some of Sondheim’s most recognizable compositions, including “Getting Married Today,” “The Ladies Who Lunch” and “Being Alive” sung by a dynamic cast that will send chills down your spine. This intelligent, mature, and hilarious story will leave you touched by the experience.

Produced by Tennessee Valley Art Association with support from the Alabama State Council on the Arts, Company brings a cast of brilliant vocalists together for the experience of a lifetime! Tickets range from $15-$20 at tennesseevalleyarts.org or call 256-383-0533.
