Columbus B. “Coon” Cummings – Obituary

Columbus B. “Coon” Cummings,98, of Phil Campbell, Ala., passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at his residence.
Mr. Cummings was a lifelong resident of Franklin County, a member and deacon of Union Hill First Congregational Methodist Church and a retired farmer.

The funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at 3 p.m., at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville, with burial in Union Hill Cemetery, Phil Campbell. Officiating will be Mickey Cummings. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1-3 p.m.

Survivors include son, Paul Cummings and wife, Shirley; daughter-in-law, June Cummings; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents, Lonnie and Laura Cummings; wife, Glenna Mae Hyde Cummings; son, Bud Cummings; and grandchildren, Darron and Donna Cummings.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of the Shoals.

Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
