Collene Ruth Hayes, 85 of Arab passed away Thursday October 10, 2024, at her residence. Collene was born December 14, 1938, in Marshall County, the daughter of Byron Harlon Causey and Thelma Mae Lipham Causey. She was married to Rex Hayes who passed away on March 22, 2008. Collene loved her family and enjoyed Alabama Football and Atlanta Braves Baseball.
She is survived by her children: LaDon Hayes, Annette (James) Allison, Russell Hayes, Cindy (Marty) Dudley, Samantha Hayes and Beth Hayes; brother: Don (Laura) Causey; sisters: Maxine Jordan, Mary George and Jan (Jimmy) Smith; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Rex Hayes; parents: Byron Harlon and Thelma Mae Causey; sisters: Pat Holaway and Louise Snow; brother: Byron Causey; grandchildren: Angel Dudley, Chris Gregory and Kai Hayes.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday October 14, 2024, at Gober Funeral Chapel with Paul David Jordan officiating. The burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel directing. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Gober Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers: Russell Hayes, Adam Hayes, Thomas Dudley, Sal Marcase, James Allison and Barry Allison.
