Colleen Elizabeth Dickens of Hazel Green, Al. born on December 31, 1959, in Karlshure, Germany, passed away on March 21, 2024, at the age of 64 in Cullman, Alabama. Colleen, known for her love of family, fur babies, concerts, and the quest for higher education, was a proud Veteran of the US Coast Guard. She was a collector of lighthouses, glass buoys, and all things nautical.

Colleen’s career at LSINC Corporation as a Team Lead in Training and Development showcased her dedication and expertise, holding a PhD, PMP, and RMP. She also pursued higher education at UNA/Florence and Phoenix University.

In her free time, Colleen enjoyed raising German Shepherds and attending concerts with her loved ones. She leaves behind her son, Drew T Smith, sisters Maureen Zurowski (John), Sheila Hickman, Deirdre Irwin (Chris), Katrina O’Leary (Dennis), Bridget Dickens Worley, brother Brendan Dickens (Leslee) and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Mack Dickens & Annie Loretta Dickens, and brother Thomas M Dickens Jr.

A Memorial Service honoring Colleen’s life will be held Wednesday March 27, 2024, at Spry Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama, from 6 to 8 PM. The funeral home is assisting the family with the arrangements during this difficult time.

Colleen will be dearly missed by all who knew her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
