Colleen Compton age 94, of Union Grove passed away Thursday April 4, 2024, at her daughter’s residence. Mrs. Compton was born on January 30, 1930, in Morgan County, AL the daughter of Coleman W. and Gladys Jackson Dunn. She was married to Hershel Compton who passed away in December of 1989. She was a member of the Morgan City Church of God, loved the outdoors and working in her flowers. She also enjoyed fishing and spent a lot of time researching genealogy. She loved her family and friends dearly. Survivors include her daughter: Judy (Jimmy) Parker; brother: Bobb (Shelia) Dunn; grandchildren: David (Jill) Parker, Julie (George) Bury, Daniel Parker, Leigh Anne (Clint) Waldrop, Douglas (Nancy) Compton and Carol (Daniel) Romines; 14 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Coleman and Gladys Dunn; sons: Rudy Compton and Charles Compton; brothers: Bill Dunn and Joe Dunn.
Funeral Service will be Sunday April 7, 2024, at 2:30 PM at Gober Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Rescue Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:30 PM until service time at 2:30 PM at Gober Funeral Chapel. Pallbearers will be: Brett Parker, Cole Romines, Douglas Compton, Daniel Parker, David Parker and Daniel Romines.
