TUSCUMBIA-The Colbert County Animal Shelter needs help from the Community; they are out of money and need food, kitty litter, medical supplies and many other supplies to keep the facility running. The DOGTROT 5k Run & 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, July 13 is a fundraiser established to help the Shelter – we’re hoping everyone will join in the fun to help this worthy cause! The event will be held in Muscle Shoals on the TVA Nature Trails, specifically on the Jogging Trail; check-in begins at 7:45am with an 8:30am start time for the 5k and a 9am start time for the 1 mile Fun Run. Registration for the 5k Run is $25 and $20 for the 1 mile Fun Run.
In addition to the DOGTROT RUNS, a Drawing will be held with an assortment of fun prizes being offered; a $5 donation will allow you to participate. You need not be present to win as long as your name and phone number are on the winning ticket. Participants will receive their choice of pet Goodie Bags, water and a banana; additional Goodie Bags are available with a donation. Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a non-retractable leash.
