Coby Allen Hines, 16, of Florence, passed away April 26, 2018. Visitation will be today, May 1, 2018, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Wilson High School Gymnasium. The funeral will follow at 3 p.m. with Brother Jeremy Goss and Brother Tom Sibley officiating. Burial will be in Jessie’s Garden in Florence.
There are countless kind words, memories and qualities that could be used to describe the life and personality of Coby. He was a wonderful son, brother, grandson, nephew and best friend, who was loved unconditionally by many. He was a student at Wilson High School and a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Coby was a hardworking, incredible athlete. So many times, you could have found him playing a game of basketball with his friends or working on his dunking skills in his driveway. He was a very talented young man who loved to draw at school and at home. Coby was a passionate, creative thinker when it came to his artwork and anything he set his mind to. He was a happy person who could light up any room with his amazing smile, funny sarcasm, and infectious laugh. He was strong willed and very intelligent. Coby was a leader in life; friends always looked up to him and family had no doubt that he would make great decisions. He always enjoyed being around his family and friends and would do anything for those he loved and cared for.
Coby was preceded in death by his father, Scott Hines; grandparents, Hugh and Shirley Vaden; and uncle Steve Vaden.
Survivors include his mother, Amanda Leahy and husband, Brandon; siblings, Eli Hines and Brandon Leahy, II; maternal grandparents, Deborah Pendergrass and Steve Druckemiller; paternal grandparents, John A. and Lisa Hines; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Woody Watkins, Aaron Watkins, Brycen Parrish, Jake White, Ethan Burch and Corbyn Jones.
Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
Although Coby’s time with us was cut far too short, his memories, his smile, his witty comebacks, his jokes, his laugh, and his love will forever be held close to our hearts.
When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.
