Clyneice Ledbetter, 94, passed away Monday, March 11, 2024, at North Alabama Medical Center. She was born May 5, 1929, in the Burnout community. She worked at the Red Bay Clinic early on before going to work at Red Bay Hospital when it opened. She helped deliver many babies in Red Bay during her time in the medical field. In 1979 she changed careers and began working as a beauty consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics. She was named to the Queen’s Court each year for many years and in 1982 was Queen of Sales in the United States. In 1993 she became a sales director, and in 1991 was honored with the Miss Go-Give award, given to consultants who are nominated and exhibit a philosophy for care most like that of Mary Kay. She was the national Queen of Personal Sales three times and runner-up twice. During her career she won three Cadillacs, two Pontiac Grand Ams, many diamond rings, diamond “Bumble Bee” pins, and mink coats.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 16, 12-3 p.m. at New Union Missionary Baptist Church with funeral services beginning at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her son, Roger Ledbetter (Joan) of Perry, Ga.; two daughters – Lennis Sewell (Gary) of Leoma, Tenn., and Wanda Shewbart (Mike) of Red Bay; grandchildren – Robin Helvey (Jeff), Alison Bearden (Kenny), Tony Greer, Chris Sewell, Misty Price (Eugene), LaKristin McLeod (Caleb), Hali McDonald (Andrew), Britta Howard (Nick), Brooke Binning (Bobby), Brooke Shewbart, Lane Shewbart; great grandchildren – Cole Smith, Woody Helvey, Ethan Bearden, Brady Bearden, Justin Greer, Josh Greer, Nick Cheek, Laura Hall, Alicia Price, Fletcher McLeod, Walker McLeod, Millie McDonald, Graham McDonald, Scarlett McDonald, Bryson Hacker, Austin Orrick, Cashton Orrick, Alice Binning, and Lillian Binning; great-great grandchildren – Hunter Cheek, Lillie Fleming, Brock Hall, Kady Hall, Evan Fleming, Mila Greer, Austin Greer, Deklan Murphy; a great-great-great grandchild, Zaylee Adams; two brothers, Raymond Blackburn and Larry Blackburn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arther Lee and Floy Blackburn; her husband, Robert H. Ledbetter, Jr.; a daughter, LaQuetta Graham; a son-in-law, Joel Graham; and three brothers, Barney Blackburn, Noble Blackburn, and Guy Blackburn.
Pallbearers will be her grandson and great grandsons.
