Clyde Wilson (Pete) Ramey was born May 9, 1926 in Enville, TN the son of the late John Harrison Ramey and Carrie Huckabee Ramey.
He was united in marriage to Betty Jo Baker on July 5, 1947. Mrs. Ramey preceded him in death on March 23, 1997. Clyde and Betty were married for almost 50 years. He later married Velma Louise Pendergrass who survives.
Mr. Ramey served his country in the United States Army as a Sergeant during World War II. He drove an 18-wheeler truck, retiring after 50 years on the road. He enjoyed reading the Bible, going to Pentecostal church and talking about his truck driving days.
Mr. Ramey departed this life on February 14, 2023 in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 96 Years, 9 Months, 5 Days. He is survived by his wife, Velma Ramey of Selmer, TN; a daughter, Janet Elaine Keen and husband Danny of Enville, TN; son, Ricky Wilson Ramey and wife Ronnie of Foley, AL; two stepsons, Edward Flatt and wife Debbie of Selmer, TN, Danny Flatt and wife Patty of Adamsville, TN; grandson, Brian Keen; four step grandsons, Danyell Flatt and wife Jennifer, Paul Flatt and wife Tiffany, Daniel Washington and wife Jennifer, and Aron Washington; and a host of great grandchildren that he loved so much.
In addition to his first wife and parents, Mr. Ramey was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and James Ramey; two sisters, Mauline Morrison, Pauline Vandiver; and stepson, Junior (J.R.) Flatt.
