Clyde Smith, 85, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the West Point Community Living Center. He was born December 29, 1936, in, Greenwood, to Russell Lee and Beattie Russell Smith. He lived in Greenville most all his life, until moving to Mantachie in 2010. He was a welder on oil rigs and in shipyards during his working career. He was a Veteran, serving in the United States Army. He was a race car driver and won many, many races. He was an avid fisherman. His later years, he could be seen riding his motorized wheelchair thru Mantachie.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Smith of Milwaukee, WI, and Ricky Smith of Indianola, MS; five daughters, Diane Kanninberg of Kalamazoo, MI, Judy Smith of Biloxi, Delorise Smith of Forest, MS, Donna Etheridge of Guntown, and Teresa Calloway of Mantachie; one sister, Mildred Pharis of Flowood; the mother of his children, Betty Gordon of Pontotoc; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great -great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Tommy Smith; one daughter, Patricia Reaves; two brothers, Jessie Jenkins and Freddie Jenkins; two sisters, Dorothy Fisk and Shirley Head; one grandson, Joshua Eugene Smith; a great grandson, Keeton Lane Hembree; and his parents.

Visitation will be Tuesday from noon until service time at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
