Clyde Durell Glidewell passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2023 at the age of 92. He lived in Corinth, MS for several years and before that he lived in Counce, TN. Clyde was born August 10, 1930 to William Alvin (Bud) Glidewell and Anna Hall Glidewell. He didn’t finish school but he could do and fix anything he set his mind to. He called it ‘common horse sense’. He loved his family, friends, playing rook, and so loved telling them stories from his childhood as well as any funny joke he had heard. He had a tender heart and tried to help anyone who needed it.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rosaline Glidewell, and daughter Sherry Putt. He is survived by children Linda Harris (Harold) of Kennesaw, Georgia, Durell Glidewell of Saulsbury, Tennessee, David Glidewell (Pat) of Corinth, Mississippi, Tim Glidewell of Counce, Tennessee; and Veronica Booker (Thomas) of Stantonville, Tennessee; 12 grandkids, 21 great grandkids, and 8 great great grandkids and one on the way. We all love and will miss him.
The visitation and service for Clyde is planned for Saturday, January 7, 2023. The viewing will begin at 9:00 am and the service will be just after at 11:00am. The visitation and service will be at Pisgah United Methodist Church, 220 Childers Hill Dr, Shiloh, Tennessee. All are invited to attend.
