Clyda Nell Moore Martin, 83, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born July 1, 1931, the fourth daughter born to Audie and Clydus Gassaway Moore. She married Geroge Thomas Martin on November 25, 1948, and they raised four children together. She was a homemaker most of her life who loved to work in her yard and grow beautiful flowers. She also worked at Black’s Men’s and Ladies’ Shop in Fulton and later for Hancock Fabrics in Tupelo. After her husband’s death, she traveled extensively in Europe and Hawaii.
No public services will be held. Following cremation, private inurnment will be in Keyes Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Fulton is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Andrews (Clarke) of Saltillo and Melissa Poole of Dorsey; one son, Michael Martin (Melinda Lyons) of Dorsey; grandsons, Max Martin, Jake Poole, Barry D. Smith, and John D. Smith (Karen Morgan); granddaughters, Erika Martin, and Christina Castleberry of Saltillo; great-granddaughters, Carly Castleberry, Gemma Martin, Lillie Poole, and Violet Poole.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Andrew “Andy” Martin; and three sisters, Elizabeth Toomer, Grace Brown, and Kathleen Doan.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p. m. Thursday, February 12, at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home.
