Clyda Clark Dozier Latham, 82, of Arab, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021, at St. Vincent’s Hospital.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, December 15, 2021, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Carbon Hill, with Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing. The funeral ervice will follow at 2 p.m., with burial at Carbon Hill Memorial Cemetery. Dr. Paul Murphy and the Rev. Scott McCullar will officiate.
Clyda was a 1957 graduate of Carbon Hill High School. She retired as City Clerk of Carbon Hill after 25 plus years, then resided in Arab, after retirement until her death.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Thurman Dozier and Don Latham; father, Clyde “Polly” Clark; brother, Joe Clark; grandparents, Floyd and Ida Jane Clark and Claude G. Sandlin and Lucille Sandlin Colbert; and brother-in-law, Robert Sparks.
She is survived by her children, Catherine Dozier Stewart (Dr. Randall K. Stewart) and Tracy Dozier Whitt (Oscar Whitt); grandchildren, Dr. Mary Catherine Stewart-Laney, Allison Stewart Cease, Jalon Whitt, Chandler Whitt, and Jacob Whitt; mother, Alada Clark; siblings, Don Clark (Sheliah), Sandra Sparks, and Wade Clark (Cyndi); as well as six great grandchildren, Anna Scott Laney, Caroline Cease, Will Laney, John Collins Cease, Whitt Laney, and Mary Alan Cease, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Alan Cease, Jason Clark, Jonathan Clark, Scott Laney, Clark Sparks, and Dr. Victor Sparks.
