Clovis Cornelius Franks, 76, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2016, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit. A lifelong resident of Itawamba County, he was born May 8, 1940, to Lucian “Brove” and Mellie Hallmark Franks. He was a member of the Church of God and attended Fulton United Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved bluegrass gospel music, especially the banjo. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and God with all his heart. He enjoyed gardening and loved life with every breath he breathed here.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Billy Burleson and Bro. Joseph Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Piney Grove Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery near Tremont.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Franks; one son, Ricky Franks of Montana; two daughters, Sandy Smith (Jeffery) of Okolona, and Cindy Pettigrew of Twin Falls, ID; three stepdaughters, Janice Nichols (Ricky), Wanda Moore, and Jamie Wood (Joel), all of Fulton; two brothers, Jim Franks of Fulton and Paul Franks (Juanita) of Mooreville; two sisters, Patsy Burleson (Bill) of Evergreen and Peggy Mabus (Mike) of Tremont; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles “Salty” Franks.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Nichols, Joel Wood, Natchez Burleson, Matthew Rock, Kody Clayton, and Dustin Johnson. Bob Killingsworth will be an honorary pallbearer.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, at the funeral home.
