A Funeral Service for Clois Gravette, age 93, will be Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Rev. Tim Tipton officiating. Burial will follow at Clay County Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Gravette passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023, in Ashland and lived in Clay County all her life. Clois worked hard all her life and loved to keep both a vegetable and flower garden. She was a dedicated member of New Prospect Baptist Church where her dressing and cakes were a must at homecoming.
She is survived by her children, Sheila Pitts(Charles) of Gadsden and Robbie Gravette(Sherry) of Ashland; grandchildren, Jamie, Todd(Melanie), Shana(Shannon), Justin, Jared, Zach(Angela), Autumn, Brian, Jonathan(Autumn) and Andy; 16 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Padgett; and other extended family.
Mrs. Gravette is preceded in death by her husband Walter “Junior” Gravette, Jr.; parents, Andrew and Vestie Gibson; daughter, Theresa Parsons; two great-grandchildren, Elyse and Gracie and four brothers, Winford, Boyce, Eursel and Bobby Gibson.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Pitts, Todd Pitts, Justin Gravette, Jared Gravette, Zach Gravette, Charles Robert Pitts and Brian Parsons.
The family will receive friends before the service at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland from 12:00 until 1:00.
