Clinton “Popeye” Dexter, 93, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Monday, November 25, 2013, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, MS. Mr. Dexter was retired from Reynolds Aluminum, where he worked as a carpenter. He was an avid coon hunter, and was a member of the Key Underwood Coon Dog Cemetery Association. He also enjoyed fishing and following local sports teams, especially baseball. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Thursday, November 28, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 29, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Jimmy Daniel. Interment will follow in Snowdown Cemetery. Pallbearers include Chad Witt, Matt Witt, Jason Rickman, Derek Dexter, Barry Dexter, Brad Witt, Clifford Murphree, and Greg Cox. Honorary Pallbearers include Dr. Al Flannery, Jessie Jones, Monty Lee Brumley, and Mr. Dexter’s great-grandsons. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Dexter of Iuka, MS; two sons, Randy Dexter of Belmont, MS, and Danny Dexter (Connie) of Iuka, MS; two daughters, Donna Hudson (Jimmy) and Kristy Hudson (Jonnie), all of Iuka, MS; seven grandchildren, Chad Witt, Lana Murphree, Lori Witt, Jason Rickman, Matt Witt, Derek Dexter, and Barry Dexter; eleven great-grandchildren, Sam Murphree, Emma Murphree, Grayson Witt, Greta Witt, Blakley Dexter, Brock Dexter, Jackson Dexter, Ethan Dexter, Cameron Witt, Ella Witt, and Mason Witt; and a niece, Marilyn Gist of Muscle Shoals, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ida Woods Dexter; two brothers, Ezra and Lucien Dexter; and a great-grandchild, Quinton Murphree.
