Mr. Clinton B. Kingery, age 88 of Ashland, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at the Clay County Hospital. There are no services planned at this time.

Mr. Kingery was born and raised in Illinois, and grew up helping his dad on the farm, making a living for his family. For work, Mr. Kingery primarily was in transportation, driving oil tanker trucks and eventually for Isner’s Grocery Stores in Illinois. He and his late wife were the owner and operators of the Beer Barrel Tavern and restaurant in Ogden, Illinois for several years and were also members of the Fairview Sportsmen’s Club. He enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling in his younger years. Mr. Kingery was a very straight forward, yet honest person, and enjoyed having conversations with anyone who would listen and was also always helpful to those in need. Mr. Kingery attended Millerville Baptist Church.

Mr. Kingery is survived by his two sons: Steven Kingery (Melia) of Danville, Illinois and Michael Kingery (Denise) of Ashland; 6 grandchildren: Justin Kingery (Mindy), Joshua Kingery (Amber), Danny Kingery, Cory Kingery, Tyler Minter (Erica), and Kristin Monroe; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Samuel and Julie Blankenship Kingery; his wife of 58 years, Fern Mary Kingery; two brothers and three sisters.

The Kingery family would like to give a special thank you to the nursing staff of Clay County Hospital for their helpful and comforting measures in caring for Mr. Kingery in his last days.
