Clifton “Smitty” Lindsey Smith, 83, of Tuscumbia, passed away Dec. 15, 2012. Visitation was Sunday, Dec. 16, from 6-8 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral service to begin at 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel, burial to follow at Colbert Memorial Gardens. Dr. Tom Whatley officiating.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 wonderful years, Eleanor Smith.
Survivors include daughters, Lacinda Pounders (Stephen), Wanda Little (Bob), Beverly Smith, Cynthia Craig, of Mobile, Ginger Klasnich (Stephen), of Calif., and Drusilla Gassenheimer (Paul), of Birmingham; sons, Danny Wallace (LaDecca) and Ronnie Wallace (Maretta); grandchildren, Danlee and Carlee Wallace, Shane Taylor, Brandy Shook (Dell), Richard Pounders (Kathy), Lindsey Kilpatrick (Chase), Brittney Little, Helen Gassenheimer, Hannah Willis, Angela White and Katherine Klasnich; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Billy Roy Smith.
Pallbearers are Richard Pounders, Shane Taylor, Danlee Wallace, Dell Shook, Devon Franks and Chase Kilpatrick.
Clifton was a member of the Iron Workers Local 477 and a veteran of the United States Army where he served during the Korean War.
