Clifford McEwen Brooks, 68, employee of AutoZone, retired bus driver for Maury County Public Schools, and resident of Columbia, died Friday, May 10, 2024 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 13, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Danny Fleming officiating. Burial will follow in Morrow Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born January 15, 1956 in Columbia, TN, he was the son of the late Wallace Ray Brooks and the late Agnes McCaleb Brooks. On September 30, 2017 he married Brenda Fleming Brooks. He loved people and talking to everyone, he never met a stranger. Mr. Brooks was a Maury County history enthusiast and enjoyed metal detecting, hunting, fishing, and collecting arrowheads.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Robert McEwen Brooks; step-sons Matthew Ryan Wiley, Jason Brent (Apryl) Fleming; brother, Charles Ray (Karen) Brooks; grandchildren, Lillian Jo Ann Woody, Jordyn Fleming, Josiah Fleming; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrna Brooks and Joyce Holder.
Active pallbearers will be Spence Brooks, Joseph Brooks, Jackson Fleming, Nathan Fleming, Ben Fleming, and Jeremy Fleming. Honorary pallbearers will include Bill and Doreen Mullins, Whitey and Joyce White, Mike and Linda Kilgore, and James Morton.
