Clifford Mason Smith, 86 of Athens, passed away on Sunday, January 24th, 2021 at Huntsville Hospital. He was a member of Berea Baptist Church. Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Navy from 1950-1954. He also served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1959.
Mr. Smith was born on February 13th, 1934 in Mobile County, the son of Elbert Smith and Edna Brantley Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Rheba Smith, a daughter, Kimberly Elizabeth Smith, two sisters, Catherine Spencer and Vivian Cottingim, and a brother, Ernest Smith. His survivors include his son, Clifford A. Smith (Lisa), step-daughters Susan D. Brady (Bernard A.) and Rebecca J. Wilder (Tex), two sisters, Hazel Romanick and Gloria Liggett (Earl), two brothers, Willie Smith (Delores) and Richard Smith (Fredna), 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 30th, 2021 at 11:00am at Berea Baptist Church.
