Clifford Lee McElhaney, 87, of Fort Payne, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023 at his home. He was born December 31, 1935 in Valley Head to the late Jewel S. McElhaney and Hattie F. Coley McElhaney. Mr. McElhaney was a faithful member of St. Paul Global Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Reynolds and Rev. Jim Russell officiating and eulogy given by Sharon Jones, sister-in-law. Burial will follow in Whitehall Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 11 a.m. until the 2 p.m. hour of service.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years Carolyn Manning McElhaney; daughter Lisa Titus and husband Bryan; son Ken McElhaney; grandson Kyle Titus and wife Lyndey; great-grandsons Tucker and Tyler; sister Mary Jo Finch; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bobby and Sharon Jones; sister-in-law Pam Manning; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Otha Thornberry, Beatrice Thompson, Marie Thornberry, L.H. McElhaney, W.C. McElhaney, and Hoyt McElhaney.
The family extends special thanks to the staff of Enhabit Hospice and to caregivers Sheree Dean, RN, and Audra King.
